Children have been on summer vacation and are now starting to think about going back to school. I know, for some children, this may be hard. They will be facing bullying, scorn and rejection. We know that God tells us in…
John 15:18-19: “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”
Remind your children that they are chosen and they are called by name by God and the world will reject the God in them. In regards to our children, we need to protect and cover them in prayer every day and even — every hour! The enemy is trying to take our children and our future and hope by doing so. The enemy is working overtime to take them from their identity, their gender, their purpose and calling.
The world is embracing this with several different recent events. The Paris Olympics opening event was mocking Jesus and embracing the pride movement. The abortion movement to take the child before birth and also the teaching our children receive in schools are all ways to take our children captive. The children are attacked more now, in this generation, than ever before. There are things in our society that make the parents the adversary and the villains. If we don’t accept everything they are teaching and feeding our children, we are labeled as extremists, etc.
We are in end times and even though we don’t know the day or time, many have prophesied with scripture we are the last generation. The Bible also teaches us in Isaiah 5:20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that count darkness as light, and light as darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.” The Bible tells us all things and it is imperative to be in the Bible to learn of all these things and let the Lord reveal to you the secrets of the kingdom of God. The word is our lamp and if we are not in it, we are walking in the dark.
This year, I pray for each and every student that God may have them dwell in the shelter of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Lord, please put good people in their path to help them. I thank you, Lord for your promises and protection. I rest knowing that You are for us and all things are possible with You. Lord, you are the way, the truth and the life and the way to the father and everlasting life. There is no one like you. There is no one higher than You. Lord, protect our children from the evil one and keep them in all their ways. Where there is fear—give them faith; where there is doubt—give them courage and where there is anxiety—give them a sound mind. We give you praise, glory and honor now and forever.
In Jesus name we pray. Love, Pastor Dr. Deb Walsh
