Diana Giraldo, Terolyn Watson, and Darla Bonk changed their minds when they got “The Call“ from their puppet master on First Street and approved the ICE Agreement.
The three council women originally voted against approving the agreement between ICE and the Ft. Myers Police Department.
They collectively made an adamant stance and cried tears; and even stated “our city is not for sale.” They are right! “ Our city is not for sale, but some citizens feel that three council persons are for sale. I don’t believe the three dissenting council women are for sale; they just lack conviction in what they believe. It’s ok to make bad decisions if you are not given the proper information to make an informed decision. However, you will NEVER have the respect of anyone who has the intestinal fortitude to stick with their beliefs, because you can’t and won’t take a stand.
I am glad Giraldo, Watson, and Bonk came to their senses in voting to approve the training between ICE and the Fort Myers Police Department, but I also know the three lack leadership intrinsic values and won’t take a stand if they feel it can come back on them individually. THAT’S POOR LEADERSHIP. That’s NOT what leaders are elected for.
The ONLY time a leader violates his/her own convictions is when he/she is controlled by a puppet master who put them in office. FACT!
Darla Bonk requested to have the City of Fort Myers Attorney Grant Alley replaced in April…. Leave Grant Alley alone!!!!!!! Grant is the only one keeping the city afloat and free of what could have been a whirlwind of legal problems for the City of Fort Myers over the years as the City’s attorney. Mayor Anderson is full aware of the importance of continuity in keeping the City Manager (Marty Lawing) and City Attorney (Grant Alley) on board for the remainder of his term. You have no idea how much “Stuff “ and “Landmines“ Grant has kept the City of Fort Myers from experiencing.
Let this Circus and embarrassment of a failed attempt to defy what was already approved by our Federal Government fade away, but remember who to vote for during the next election cycle. If a leader won’t stand up for what they believe in; what makes you think they will stand up for you?
