I’m Rachel Kaduk and I am running for Cape Coral City Council District 7. I grew up here. I went to Diplomat and Mariner High School. I bought land across the street from my mother’s home. I saved and saved and then I built the home I currently reside in. I live in the same district I grew up in. I am a wife and mother. I am a Loan Officer with Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. Prior to entering the world of finance, I was happily employed as a Business Development Manager learning how businesses help other businesses and not just monetarily. It was in that position that I began branching out and putting roots down in my community and the surrounding areas. This gave me the opportunity to get involved with the local Chambers, Non-Profits, and really learn to serve the community. In 2020, when businesses were shutting down during the COVID-19 pandemic, unfortunately my position was put on furlough. One industry that was busier than ever during this time was banking. I was offered a position processing the Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program loans for Sanibel Captiva Community Bank—which was originally intended to be temporary. It didn’t take long working at SanCap Bank for me to feel a renewed excitement to learn new skillsets within the finance world that led me to join one of the top performing lending teams at the bank as a loan coordinator. After three years, I was promoted to Residential Loan Officer at our largest location, the bridge branch. I have the financial acumen to serve our city conservatively with fiscal responsibility.
I am running to listen to the citizens & mend the relationship between council and the residents, infrastructure, & parks and recreation. Examples include the stipend, Jaycee Park, taxes & affordability. Traffic is getting worse. The lights are not timed properly. Some areas do not have lights at all. I want to focus on expanding roadways. In District 7, I want to pay attention to the procurement process for the Utilities Expansion Project to ensure affordability. Parks & Recreation are essential to our community, which is why the residents voted for the GO-Bond. There are incomplete projects, and new projects that the citizens are voicing their concerns for. My backyard is the Yellow Fever Creek Preserve. This project is behind schedule. We continue to take on new projects without completing previously funded projects and we need to be proactive in bidding the jobs out prior to committing debt to residents. Inflation has played a huge part in our projects becoming costly.
I currently serve on the Board of Directors for 4 organizations. I love serving the community! Growing up here, I am very in tune with the city and issues that we face. I have a genuine desire to make a difference. I am passionate about fostering positive change. I am dedicated to serving as a voice for residents. I believe in building a brighter future for all by advocating for inclusive policies, equitable opportunities, and thriving neighborhoods. I have cultivated relationships within the community to get Cape Coral funding and grants needed to help with the costs of projects. Resilient leaders are steady in the face of adversity, and I believe that is me. I hope to earn your vote on November 5th.
