I want to tell you that you are not alone. You are a member of a family, a community and prayerfully—a church. Hebrews 10:25 (AMP) God tells us “not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching”. God made you and created you in His image. He knows what is best for you. He knows we need each other to encourage each other, to share our burdens, to help support us in this journey of life and to keep holy.
We see the gathering of the people many times in the Bible. Moses assembled the Israelites to give them the law. God created festivals and feasts to honor Him. They were to not work and gather together for communion, fellowship, feasting, worship and praise. We see how the early church gathered in homes and often ate together. Acts 2:42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Isolation leads to loneliness, depression, anxiety and other negative impacts to our spirit and soul. It is also a tactic of the enemy to get you alone, away from the flock (body of Christ) to get you to stop living life abundantly and away from God. Essentially, you become easy prey to the enemy. As a matter of fact, when the COVID pandemic came along, there was a wave of depression that came along with it because of the isolation that was a result of closing schools, churches, public venues and other gatherings. This isolation led to many falling away from a relationship with God. Romans 12:5 so in Christ we who are many are one body, and each member belongs to one another. Wow—we belong to one another. We need each other!
God loves you and will leave the 99 to go and get the one (Luke 15:4). That is YOU! He wants you to know how He is searching for you. To rescue you from the thickets, from the wolves and from your troubles. He wants to bring you into the safety and back to the flock. In the flock of sheep (church or Bride of Christ) there is safety. He has plans for you, to prosper you and not harm you. To give you hope and a future. He is searching for you. Do you see Him? Do you see Him in the person that invites you to church or gives you a hug? Do you hear Him when you are quiet? Don’t delay. The return of Christ is near and at any moment, He will return for His flock. You want to be in the number. Don’t be left behind. Repent of your sins, return to your first love (Jesus) and give Him your heart, follow Him and don’t look back. You won’t regret it!
