April holds significance as we see God’s creation birth new beginnings. Animals give birth to their babies in the spring and flowers and plants spring forth from the soil and bud with flowers and new growth. We too have new beginnings as Jesus’ death and resurrection brings us hope, transformation and spiritual growth. His resurrection power is living in us as we accept Him into our hearts and lives. He makes us a new creation and the old has passed away. Similar with baptism. We go down in the water as the old creature and come up a new person with the resurrection power in us.
With new beginnings, it means we have to do something different and turn away from the old. If you are tired of a particular situation or tired of not growing in the Lord, turn to Him and read the Word of God.
Let Him reveal to you what habits, relationships or situations in your life are not serving you. Let God reveal the secrets of an abundant life and whisper His plans to you in your heart.
Some habits are hard to let die. Some are so embedded in our body that it may seem impossible to break. But God can break them and wash you in His blood and make you white as snow. God can remove the physical and mental temptations keeping you in bondage. Similar to the Israelites bondage in Egypt, God freed them at this time of year thousands of years ago. He is still the same God and can free you too!
Let this be a new beginning and remember, “His mercies are new everyday” and if you don’t succeed — try and try again. Remember, God’s plans for our lives are perfectly orchestrated, bringing about completion and order in His time. Love you!
