Dear Beloved

This is a new year and a God is doing a new thing!  Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.  The question to ask yourself is, are you perceiving it?  It springs up and that means it can come suddenly and forceful.  A spring when it is irrigated gushes up from the ground.  He is making a way in the wilderness which means those areas of your life that are not fruitful or barren—He can make a way where there seems to be no way.  In the wilderness is where Moses, Jesus and many others went to spend time with God and to themselves prior to coming out and making a huge impact on people.  Streams in the wasteland means that His mercies, grace and blessing flow!  Wasteland is where nothing will grow.  It takes water to make things grow and God will make streams of living water come out of you when you accept Jesus as your Savior!  Like the woman at the well, He is the only one who can give living water.

There are some good habits to incorporate that have proven positive outcomes.  First is to read the Bible. I recommend starting at Proverbs, the book of wisdom.  If you are doing the same thing and expect different results, you need wisdom to make changes to bring about better results.  It has 31 chapters and therefore, you can read one chapter a day for each and every month.  Second, is to prepare a budget.  This is what every person should do to stay in the confines of what you can afford.  Mammon will have you overspend and keep your debt in darkness or secret.  If you know your finances, you will be able to make better decisions.  Better decisions then lead to better outcomes.

However, did you know that God’s Spirit has already given you wisdom with understanding to have skills and abilities that will help you to be successful?  Exodus 31:2-3  “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills. This year, ask God what He has given you to help you be prosperous.  What are some things you enjoy doing?  What do you get recognition from others that highlights your strengths?  Spend time with God and ask Him to reveal them to you.

Deuteronomy 28:8 states, “The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.”

That is a great promise and add that to what wisdom He has given you, how could you not be prosperous?  Have you asked God to bless what you put your hand to?  Start seeking God and His prosperous plans, wisdom and blessings that are too numerous to count.  God delights in the details of your life “Psalm 37:23 The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives.”  If you want to know Him, ask God to forgive you of your sins and ask Him to come into your heart.  Knowing that He came to earth, lived and died for our sin.  He paid the price for us already.  He ransomed us back to Himself at the cost of His precious blood.  Nobody loves you more than Him.  Find a Bible-believing church and attend regularly so you can get encouragement and support in your walk with God.

Love, Pastor Dr. Deb Walsh

Ephesians 4:22-24 states, “To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”
