I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:3 tells us God blesses us and that it is not luck. If you claim you were “lucky”, then you are taking the credit that is due to our God. Life is filled with challenges, uncertainties, and moments of struggle. Yet, in the midst of it all, there is one constant: God’s unwavering blessings. His grace, love, and mercy surround us daily, whether we recognize it or not.
God’s blessings come in many forms — some are tangible, like good health, loving relationships, and financial stability, while others are unseen, such as peace, wisdom, and inner strength. The Bible reminds us in James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” This verse reassures us that all good things originate from God, and His blessings are constant and unchanging.
Often, we associate blessings with material prosperity or success, but God’s greatest blessings are found even in trials. Hardships may refine our faith, drawing us closer to Him. Romans 8:28 states, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Even in suffering, God is at work, shaping our character, teaching us patience, and strengthening our trust in Him.
How to Receive God’s Blessings
Faith and Obedience – God blesses those who walk in His ways. In Deuteronomy 28:2, it says, “All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.” Living according to His Word opens doors for divine favor.
Gratitude – A heart filled with thanksgiving attracts more of God’s goodness. When we recognize and appreciate His blessings, we open ourselves to receive more.
Prayer and Trust – Seeking God through prayer allows us to align with His will. He delights in blessing His children when they seek Him wholeheartedly.
Being a Blessing to Others – One of the greatest ways to experience God’s blessings is by being a blessing to others. Luke 6:38 reminds us, “Give, and it will be given to you.”
God’s blessings are not always about what we receive but about His presence in our lives. Whether in joy or in trials, His love never fails. May we always recognize, cherish, and share His abundant blessings with those around us. So instead of saying “Happy St. Patrick’s Day”, say, “Thank you, Lord for your blessings!”
In closing, May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
