With more than 20 years of experience in graphic design, publishing, and visual communications, I’ve had the opportunity to work with an incredible range of companies, organizations, and brands—helping them turn ideas into compelling, effective communications.
My career began in 1998 after graduating from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, with a degree in Communications and Photography. I started in publishing on Long Island, working with a nursing magazine where I learned the ins and outs of production, pre-press, photography, and the fast-paced world of magazine publishing.
In 2003, I moved to Washington, D.C., and joined a golf magazine that was in the process of expanding its reach. During my time there, I helped grow the publication from a single edition to five, while also producing annual Golf Guides and a wide variety of additional editorial and marketing materials.
In 2006, I moved to Florida and launched my own design business. Since then, I’ve designed thousands of magazine pages and worked on virtually every type of marketing collateral imaginable—from brochures, advertisements, newsletters, and direct mail to websites, digital campaigns, social media, and brand development. Twenty years of working independently has given me something I value just as much as design experience: relationships. I’ve been fortunate to build a diverse and loyal group of clients who trust me to understand their businesses, solve problems, manage projects, and bring their ideas to life. I enjoy being more than just the person who makes something look good—I like understanding the why behind the project and finding the best way to communicate it.
And because the creative industry never stands still, neither do I. I’m continually learning, adapting, and exploring new technology, platforms, and ways to connect with an audience.
When I’m not behind a computer, you’ll usually find me traveling, scuba diving, reading, or competing in triathlons. I believe those experiences outside of work are just as important as the ones behind the desk—they keep me curious, challenged, and inspired.
