Dunbar High School Cybersecurity Teacher Recognized as CYBER.ORG Educator Award Winner

Dunbar High School teacher Dan Trembley has been named one of four national winners of the CYBER.ORG Annual Educator Award. 

This prestigious recognition highlights Trembley’s exceptional contributions to cybersecurity education and his impact as one of the nation’s leading educators in the field.

Mr. Trembley has played a key role in advancing cybersecurity education since the Academy for Technology Excellence inception in 2004. Under his leadership, students have earned professional-level certifications from industry-leading organizations, including Adobe, Certiport, Cisco, CompTIA, and Microsoft. Over the past two decades, many of Trembley’s former students have gone on to successful cybersecurity careers in the military, government, and private industry.

CYBER.ORG, the academic initiative of the Cyber Innovation Center, is a cybersecurity workforce development organization dedicated to preparing K–12 students for careers in cybersecurity. The organization provides career awareness programs, curricular resources, and professional development opportunities for educators nationwide.

CYBER.ORG’s efforts are supported by a grant from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This funding enables CYBER.ORG to develop and distribute high-quality cybersecurity education resources at no cost to educators across the country.
